FluMist vaccination for children now available
Influenza can cause serious illness and hospitalisation for children. Vaccination is our best line of defence.
Offering protection without injection, both Fiona Stanley and Fremantle hospitals are now offering the new needle‑free, FluMist nasal spray influenza vaccine for any child aged 2 to 11 years.
The intranasal spray is a free, safe and effective alternative to guard children against influenza A and B, without the distress of a needle.
Who can have FluMist?
Any child aged 2 to 11 years can have the FluMist vaccine. Children do not need to be patients at the hospital to have the vaccine.
If parents do not prefer the FluMist nasal spray vaccine for their child, injectable vaccinations are also available.
Where can children have FluMist and do they need to book?
Parents can simply bring their child to one of our walk-in Community Flu Vaccination Clinics.
Visit our friendly team at our walk-in Community Flu Vaccination Clinics:
