    How growing up with a cochlear implant changed the lives of paediatric patients with SSD 30 May 2025 13 years ago, Emma was the very first child with single-sided deafness (SSD) to receive a cochlear implant, while Lucas was the very first baby with SSD to receive a cochlear implant in Australia. Fast forward to today, the surgery has been life changing for the pair.

    Major traffic alert 31 May 30 May 2024 Industrial action occurring tomorrow (Friday 31 May) is expected to disrupt travel along four major routes into Perth city from 6.30am, impacting patients travelling to and from Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. There is no planned reduction in hospital services, including theatre and outpatients. Please allow extra time for travel and consider alternative routes to arrive on time for early booked appointments and theatre.
